Ozzie London partners up with SolarTrak on new vocal house anthem ‘Never Over You’
The pair met via a mutual musical admiration for each other having supported each other’s music on the airwaves and in the clubs.
In true 2k18 style, they set about bouncing ideas and files to each other, finding the killer vocal, gradually building the melody and feel.
‘Never Over You’ is an uplifting house gem sparkling with an explosive energy built around a catchy female vocal. The temperature rises as the track build’s around a melodic synth bass, warm strings and hooky synth lines into a euphoric floor filling club anthem.
The mighty Somn3um get hold of reggae & soul artist Dan Bowskill (who’s also worked with the likes of Artificial Intelligence) and skillfully remake his recent collaboration with Crossfire. They bring in a weighty, hedonistic, sound system supplying, dance floor delight!
It’s all about big bass lines, bottom heavy bass synths riffs along with Dan’s pure reggae sunshine vibes powering through the speakers with a real uplifting feel and tone.
House stalwarts and all round geezers Scott Forshaw and Greg Stainer collaborate once again on their new single with vocalist Ramzi.
‘Now’ is an accomplished, forward-thinking house track that oozes quality. It’s a dance track with two feet firmly planted on the dance floor but it also sounds as equally at home on the airwaves. Lyrically beatific and musically innate it’s a rich blend of uplifting house music that should stand the test of time.
As Greg tells us:
“We were introduced to Ramzi for a possible collab through our management. When we heard the first draft of the song we loved the emotion and vibe. It’s a meaningful song all about living in the moment. We instantly knew we could turn it into a solid future house club track while keeping it radio friendly with the full vocal and piano intros complimenting the heavy bass and synth leads.”

The Notion is the new single from Cambridge based UK artist Cumminz. The track was born via social media when Cumminz heard vocalist Oscar Corney on a YouTube Channel. As it turned out, by a twist of fate and completely coincidentally they both come from the same town! Cumminz got in touch and started sending some instrumentals for Oscar to check out. The track was written in one fluid session but after months of tweaking Cumminz still felt something was missing…. Fast forwards three years later and the addition of a live sax recording from Phil Marshall and you can now hear the finished article! It’s been worth the wait!
The Notion is a jazzy, uplifting house track that has a clear message: stay positive and looking forward in life! As Cumminz explains: “A close friend of mine was badly struggling with anxiety and depression at the time and I had them in mind when writing the track. The vocals speak for themselves!”
Cumminz has performed all over the UK including several appearances at the Ministry of Sound in London and headlining the opening night of V Festival. His single ‘Bass In My Veins’ featuring vocalist James Ford received support from a number of top names and has accumulated over 200,000 plays to date. Cumminz also won Electronic Producer of the year in 2016 and 2017 at the NMG Awards. Most recently, his official debut single ‘Dance All Night’ on leading dance label Sleazy received support on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra, Kiss FM and Rinse FM; backed by legends such as Laurent Garnier, Roger Sanchez and many more!
Cumminz ‘The Notion’ is released on Somn’thing Records on 28th September
Norwegian Future House hero Magnus Foss is back his new single!
The Scandinavian DJ and producer spent the summer 2k18 in Ibiza finding inspiration on the White Isle in the clubs and listening to DJ’s as varied as Solomun and Armand Van Helden as well as attending festivals taking in the atmosphere, music and vibe. It was at a music event in Oslo that he met vocalist and songwriter – Hawen. They started working together pretty soon after and when he handed her an instrumental for ‘With Me’ she set to work. The lyrics and vocal melody evolved quickly, her voice combines perfectly, blending with the blissed-out beats, layered synths and booming bass to create an emotive future house anthem.
Magnus Foss has grown up immersed in dance music. Now a solo artist in his own right (he previously recorded under his “Marcus Dimera” pseudonym) he is a regular at clubs and festivals in and around his Oslo home. Unbelievably, he’s a veteran of more than eight hundred DJ gigs already! Recently, he decided to further educate and focus one hundred per cent on his productions by taking a bachelor’s degree in songwriting & production at Høyskolen Kristiania in Norway.
His new single ‘With Me’ is released on the 14th September 2018 via Somn’thing Records
Paul Morrell makes a welcome return to the Somn’thing stable with his most accomplished release yet.
No Ordinary Love was initially produced as an instrumental record, however shortly after Paul enlisted the vocal talents of Laura White (Vocalist for Sigala / Galantis ‘Love on Me’) who also gets a co-write credit. The original instrumental track was a moody melancholic chord lead record, and Laura’s vocals add class, and give the track the feel of classic dance track reminiscent of a Chicane production?!
On completion, there was only one remix outfit in mind – Grammy Award Winning duo K-Klass!
K-Klass are synonymous with the classic Piano House sound and in true KKlass style, they have provided a driving piano club mix which utilises the full vocal and adds a completely different take on the record. Simply awesome!
Finally, the man of the moment – James Bluck, has also been enlisted for remix duties, he provides a more upfront, commercial take on the piano sound, where his trademark organ bass line delivers once again. A “pumping’, slightly more energetic version definitely with an up for it crowd in mind.
A super strong package and killer release that deserves your full attention.
True story: Somn3um take you by the hand and lead you to the main room, straight onto the dance floor with their new anthem ‘The Story’. It’s a brilliant journey into house, taking you to a place where a solid groove, dreamy pads and uplifting keys syncopate with a lush vocal to bathe your ears in a sea of warm vibes.
The Story is just the latest footnote to a super busy year for the Somn’thing Records honchos. It’s been hectic 2018 juggling a busy studio schedule, weekly radio show and their resident DJ and guest spots around the world.
Somn3um ‘The Story’ is out on the 31st August on Somn’thing Records.
Part Two of the remixes kicks off with the uplifting piano house vibes of Apollo. His remix has an anthemic, timeless quality to it. Unregular weighs in with a more laid back house feel. Breezy beats drop into classic piano and strings with a staccato’d melodic lead synth hook. Finally up and coming Froglicka jumps on board rounding off the package nicely.
